The agreement between your school and Schoolpager

1Who we are and who you are

We are Fikazon Technologies Ltd, trading as Schoolpager, at schoolpager.com.ng. You are the school that holds the account, and the people the school lets sign in on its behalf. When a person opens an account for a school, they confirm that the school has allowed them to do so and to accept these terms for it.

Parents, pupils and other visitors to a school's website are not party to these terms. Their relationship is with the school; our privacy policy explains what we do with the information a website collects for a school.

2Your account

• One person signs in with one email address and a password. Keep the password private. Anything done while signed in with it counts as done by you.
• You may add other people to your school with their own sign-ins and roles. The school is responsible for everyone it adds and should remove people who leave.
• Tell us straight away if you think someone else has your password. We will help you lock the account.
• Give us accurate details and keep the school's contact email current: it is where we send notices about billing, domains and security.
• You must be at least 18 to open an account.

3The free trial

A new school gets fourteen days on the Standard plan at no charge. No card is taken, nothing is charged automatically, and no invoice is raised when the trial ends. Your website is private while you build it and stays private until you choose to publish.

When the trial ends without a plan being chosen, the admin becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted. Choosing a plan and paying reopens it. One trial per school; we may close duplicate trials for the same school.

4Plans, prices and payment

• We offer Basic, Standard and Premium plans, each with a price for one, three, six or twelve months. The current prices and what each plan includes are shown on the Billing page in your admin before you choose. A price we have shown you is the price you pay for that period.
• All prices are in Nigerian naira. You pay by card through Paystack, or by bank transfer using the details on your invoice. Card details are handled by Paystack; we never see or store your card number.
• A plan is paid in advance for its period. A renewal invoice is raised about thirty days before the period ends and is due on the day the period ends. We send reminders; we do not charge a card without you starting the payment.
• Changing plan part-way through a period ends the old period on the day you change and starts the new one. There is no refund for the unused part of a period, and no credit carried across.
• Prices may change. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for; it applies from your next renewal, and we email you before it does.
• Any tax the law requires us to add is shown on the invoice.

5If a payment is missed

Your website is your parents' front door, so a late payment is handled in steps and never by deleting anything.

A single payment at any step restores everything. A school that has stayed paused for twelve months may have its account closed under section 14, and we email you thirty days before that happens.

6Your content

Everything you put into Schoolpager — words, photographs, documents, staff details, news, the answers parents send you — belongs to your school, or to whoever gave you the right to use it. We claim no ownership of it.

So that we can run your website, you give us permission to store, copy, resize, back up and display your content, and to send it where it needs to go to do that (for example to our storage and email providers). That permission lasts while the content is with us and ends when it is deleted, except for backup copies, which expire on their own schedule.

You are responsible for your content. In particular you confirm that:

• you have the right to publish it, including photographs, logos, crests and anthems;
• you have whatever consent your school's own policies and Nigerian law require before publishing a photograph or name of a pupil, and you will remove one when a parent asks;
• what the website says about the school — fees, results, accreditations, staff — is true;
• the website does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, or harmful to children.

Because it is your content, you decide when it is public. Nothing on your website is visible to the world until you publish the site, and each item can be shown or hidden by you.

7Suggestions, imports and drafts

Schoolpager offers to write first drafts for you: suggested wording when you start, text and photographs imported from a website you already have, calendar reminders such as term dates, and captions for photographs you email in. Some of this uses automated writing software.

• Every draft is marked as a suggestion and is never published without you. You read it, change it, and choose to show it.
• Drafts can be wrong. Check facts, names, dates and fees before you publish. Once you publish, the words are yours.
• You may import only a website your school owns. We ask you to prove that before we read a single page, and we import text and pictures as drafts for your review.

8Acceptable use

Schoolpager is for schools' own websites and communications. You agree not to use it, or let it be used, to:

• publish anything unlawful in Nigeria, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• publish or send anything sexual involving minors, or anything intended to harm, bully or exploit a child;
• pretend to be another school, organisation or person;
• send unsolicited bulk email from school mailboxes, or use them for phishing or fraud;
• host malware, run scams, or collect card details or passwords through your website other than through the payment tools we provide;
• attempt to reach another school's data, break our security, or load the service in a way that degrades it for others;
• resell the service or give a third party access to it, other than the people who work for or with your school.

If we find a breach we will normally tell you and ask you to fix it. Where content or behaviour is dangerous, unlawful or harming others we may hide it, suspend the website or close the account first and explain afterwards.

9Domain names

Every school gets a free address of the form yourschool.fpager.com for as long as it has an account. The address is chosen when the school signs up and cannot be changed afterwards, because changing it would break every link and QR code that points to it; a different address is a custom domain.

Domains you already own

You may connect a domain you own by pointing it at us. You keep it with your existing registrar and remain responsible for renewing it there. If you delegate the domain's nameservers to us, its DNS records are then held with us and you can edit them in your admin; we tell you plainly which records make your website work.

Domains bought through us

• Domains are registered in your school's name, with the school as the registrant, from the first day. We are not the owner of your domain.
• The price quoted is in naira and includes the registry's fee, the exchange rate we obtain and our margin. Renewals are priced separately and can differ from the first year, so the renewal price is shown before you buy.
• Registration is final once the registry has issued the domain. Registries do not refund, so neither can we, unless the registration fails.
• We remind you of renewals at sixty, thirty and seven days. A domain that is not renewed expires under the registry's rules and may be lost. Auto-renew is on by default and raises an invoice; it does not charge a card by itself.
• You may transfer a domain away at any time; the transfer code is sent by the registrar to the registrant's email address, which is yours.
• Domain registration is subject to the registry's and ICANN's rules, which apply to you as registrant. We currently sell generic endings (such as .com, .org, .school). Nigerian endings (.ng, .com.ng, .sch.ng) can be connected but not yet bought here.

You may point a domain we hold records for at another website. Your Schoolpager site remains at its free address.

10School email

On plans that include it, we set up email on your domain and create mailboxes for you. Mailboxes are provided through Zoho Mail under an organisation we hold, and each mailbox is one licence within it. The number of mailboxes on each plan is shown on the Billing page.

• We generate a mailbox's first password and show it to you once. We never store it, and we cannot read your mail in the ordinary course of running the service.
• When you delete a mailbox you have 24 hours to change your mind. After that, we keep a copy of its mail for 90 days, then delete it permanently.
• When an account is paused for non-payment (section 5), each mailbox is switched off and its mail is copied and kept for 90 days. Bringing a mailbox back within those days costs a recovery fee, shown on the Billing page at the time. After 90 days the copy is deleted and cannot be recovered.
• You must follow Zoho's own policies for the mailboxes they provide, and you must not send bulk or unsolicited mail from them.

11Collecting fees on your website

On plans that include it, your website can accept school fees, application fees, shop orders and donations. Payments go through your school's own Paystack account, directly to your school. We are not the merchant, the payment is not made to us, and we hold none of the money.

• You give us your Paystack keys so the website can start a payment and confirm it was paid. We store them encrypted and show them masked; revealing a key again requires your password and a code emailed to you, and every reveal is recorded.
• Refunds, disputes and receipts for tax are between your school, the payer and Paystack. We provide a receipt for the payer's records and a ledger for yours.
• You are responsible for describing what is being paid for accurately and for honouring what was paid for.

12The service, availability and changes

• We work to keep your website online at all times and take a copy of the platform every night. We cannot promise a service that is never interrupted: the internet, our providers and planned maintenance sometimes get in the way. When we plan maintenance that will take websites offline, we do it at a quiet hour and tell you beforehand.
• Websites are served with a security certificate we obtain and renew for you. Certificates for your own domain depend on the domain pointing at us; if it does not, your free address keeps working.
• We improve Schoolpager continually. Designs, features and the admin will change, and we may retire a feature with reasonable notice. A change never deletes your content.
• Some things we offer are provided by others — Cloudflare, Zoho, Paystack, domain registries, Amazon and Anthropic among them — and are subject to their availability. We choose them carefully and change them when we must.
• We may set reasonable limits (storage, mailboxes, pages, imports, automated drafting) per plan and per school, and will show them where they apply.

13Personal data

The privacy policy is part of these terms. In summary: for the school's own account details we are the data controller; for the information your website collects from parents and pupils — enquiries, applications, payments, visits — your school is the controller and we act on your instructions as a processor under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. We process that information only to run your website and its forms, keep it secure, never sell it, and delete or return it when you leave. Each of us will help the other answer a parent's request about their data.

A privacy notice and an accessibility statement are written for your website from your details when the account is opened, as drafts under the school's name. Read them before you publish; the words become yours the moment you edit them, and they are yours to change at any time.

14Leaving

• You may stop at any time by not renewing. Nothing else is required, and you owe nothing further. Your website follows the steps in section 5 and your content stays until the account is closed.
• You may ask us to close the account sooner. On request, before closure, we give you a copy of your content — text, photographs, documents and form submissions — in ordinary formats you can take elsewhere.
• We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 8, for unlawful use, or when a school has been paused for twelve months; in the last case we email you thirty days first.
• When an account is closed we delete its content within ninety days, except copies in backups (which expire on their own schedule) and records the law requires us to keep, such as invoices.
• Domains registered in your school's name remain yours; we help you move them.

15Our responsibility to you

We provide Schoolpager with reasonable skill and care. Beyond what these terms say, the service is provided as it is, and we make no other promises about it.

We are not responsible for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, by your content or your use of the service in breach of these terms, or by a third party's failure that we could not reasonably have prevented. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost enrolments, lost income or damage to reputation.

Where we are liable to you, our total liability for everything arising in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount your school paid us in those twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You will cover us against claims by others that arise from your content or your breach of these terms.

16The legal part

• These terms, the privacy policy and the prices shown in your admin are the whole agreement between us. If a term is found unenforceable the rest still applies.
• We may update these terms. For a change that matters to you we email the school's contact address at least thirty days before it takes effect; continuing to use the service after that date is acceptance. The current version is always at schoolpager.com.ng/terms.
• Neither of us may transfer this agreement without the other's consent, except that we may transfer it to a company that takes over Schoolpager, and we will tell you if we do.
• Nigerian law governs these terms. If we cannot settle a dispute between ourselves within thirty days of one of us raising it, either of us may take it to the courts of Nigeria.
• Notices to you go to the school's contact email; notices to us go to the address below.
